"In July of 2005, My wife and I were coming home from dinner and we noticed that a strange vehicle was parked in some of our trees along our driveway. I had my wife call  911 and I grabed Kato. Then we went up.  The police Dep. was 45 minutes away.
      When this took Place, Kato was 2 years old and had no attack training.  When I got  to the car, there were two people in it. The people who were in the car had just robbed a local pharmacy.  Kato jumped up, and would not let them out of the the car. When the Police Dept. showed up,  I pulled Kato off the car and the Police pulled them out. The dirver had a large knife.  I feel that there is a good chance that I would have been attacted if it had not been for Kato."

                  DDR
The DDR lines. In the former East Germany, German Shepherds adhered more closely to the old pre-war standard, marked by a straighter back, a longer and denser coat, and a darker color. The government sponsored breeding program fell when the wall fell thus there are no longer any true DDR dogs being produced although there are current attempts to preserve this distinct line amongst certain breeders.
